Julie was born November 18, 1973 the youngest child of Huel and Betty Love of Talladega,
Alabama. Mr. Love was in the middle of a trial and Mrs. Love had been arguing a case
before the Alabama Supreme Court just days before she was born. Her mother has often
joked that Julie's love of the law was learned through osmosis.
Julie graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors of Art degree in 1995.
While a student she enjoyed membership in Sigma Kappa Sorority and was active in the
University of Alabama Theatre Department. Julie received her Juris Doctor degree from
Cumberland School of Law on the Samford University campus in 1999. While at Cumberland
she served on the Student Bar Association, as a Street Law Volunteer, and a member of the
Trial Advocacy Board. She was on the Dean's List and received the Hubert W. Peterson Trial
Advocacy Scholarship.
In 1999 she began the practice of law with her parents, the late Huel M. Love and Betty C.
Love. She has also practiced with two of her brothers and one sister in the family firm of
Love, Love, & Love, P.C. in Talladega. In 2001 Julie returned to Tuscaloosa and now has her
own firm, Julie L. Love, P.C., where she has a general law practice covering both Alabama
and Mississippi.
She is a member of Pilot Club International, Girl Scouts of America, The American Trial
Lawyers Association, and the Alabama and Mississippi State Bar Associations. She is also a
member of the Tuscaloosa Bar Association and the Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program. In
2004 Julie was crowned Mrs. America 2005 and placed third in the Mrs. World Pageant in
Amby Valley, India.
Julie founded a non profit organization called "Clara's Closet" which is designed to provide
lower income women with office appropriate clothing and accessories. She also volunteers
for the March of Dimes and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame. In her spare time
she enjoys painting, singing, participating in theatrical productions and teaching aerobics.
